What size table seats 8 people comfortably?

An 8-seater requires round tables of at least 180cm diameter, or rectangular/oval tables typically 220-260cm long by 100-110cm wide. These sizes allow each guest approximately 60cm of table space plus room for serving dishes. When choosing an 8-seater, ensure your patio can accommodate both the table footprint and 80-100cm clearance around all sides.

How much patio space do I need for an 8-seater dining set?

A minimum patio area of 3m x 3m is recommended, with 3.5m x 4m providing ample breathing room, especially with a parasol. The table itself occupies roughly 2.2-2.6m x 1-1.1m for rectangular designs. Measure your space carefully and visualise chair placement before committing to a large dining set.

Can the table extend to seat more than 8 guests?

Is an 8-seater dining set available with a fire pit?

Yes, we offer several 8-seater dining sets with integrated gas fire pit tables, combining outdoor dining with ambient warmth for evening entertaining. Fire pit tables feature a central burner surrounded by a dining surface, with a protective glass screen and cover plate. Gas bottles and regulators must be purchased from a hardware store or garden centre (not sold by Rattan Direct).
