Covers feature ventilation panels, elasticated hems, and tie-down straps for secure fitting, plus each includes a storage bag.

Do furniture covers fit Rattan Direct sets exactly?

Yes, we stock tailored covers designed specifically for our furniture ranges including 4, 6, and 8-seater dining sets, cube sets, corner sofas, and bistro sets. Tailored covers fit snugly, reducing wind flap and ensuring comprehensive protection. For older or discontinued sets, contact our customer service team for best-fitting recommendations.

What weight parasol base do I need?

For a 2.7m parasol, a base weighing 15-20kg is usually sufficient in sheltered locations; for a 3m parasol or windy areas, choose a 20-30kg base. Cantilever parasols require heavier bases—typically 25-40kg or a dedicated cantilever base with wheels. Heavier bases provide better stability and reduce the risk of toppling in gusty conditions.

Can I buy replacement cushions for older Rattan Direct furniture?

Yes, we stock replacement cushions for current furniture ranges and many older collections. For discontinued ranges, we may still have stock or can recommend close-match alternatives. Replacement cushions are an affordable way to refresh faded cushions or update your furniture with a new colour scheme.

What sizes of storage boxes are available for cushion storage?

Our rattan storage boxes range from 100cm to 140cm long, 60-80cm wide, and 60-80cm high. A large 140 x 70 x 80cm storage box comfortably holds cushions for a 6-8 seater dining set or corner sofa. Storage boxes double as outdoor seating or side tables when closed, made from weather-resistant PE rattan with gas-lift lids.

Is a parasol base included with the parasol?

No, parasol bases are sold separately to allow you to choose the appropriate weight and style for your specific parasol and location. We offer polyconcrete bases in various weights from 15kg to 40kg. Cantilever parasols require dedicated cantilever bases or weighted plates.

Are parasols windproof or do I need to close them in wind?

No parasol is entirely windproof, and all should be closed and secured during strong winds (typically over 25mph/40kph) to prevent damage and potential injury. Our parasols feature wind-resistant features such as vented canopies that allow air to pass through. Always use an appropriately weighted base and close the parasol when not in use.

Will a parasol fit my table's parasol hole?

Most UK garden tables use a standard 38mm diameter pole opening, and our classic parasols have 38mm poles that fit perfectly. Cantilever parasols have offset poles and use a freestanding base positioned to the side. Measure your existing parasol hole diameter before purchasing if your table is from another retailer.

What is the difference between a standard and cantilever parasol?

A standard parasol has a central pole that passes through the table's parasol hole, providing shade directly above the table. A cantilever parasol has an offset pole positioned to the side, maximising usable table space and allowing you to shade areas without a parasol hole. Cantilever parasols often feature 360° rotation, tilt mechanisms, and larger canopies but require heavier bases.

Do LED parasols require mains electricity?

No, our LED parasols are solar-powered only, requiring no mains electricity or wiring. Solar-powered LED parasols charge during the day via integrated solar panels and automatically illuminate at dusk. LED lights provide soft atmospheric lighting for evening dining and entertaining.
